About This Webinar

Sprint Mechanics Analysis in Applied Sport Practice

This session examines the practical application of sprint mechanical profiling in elite sport, with a focus on two areas: the relationship between kinematic and force-derived sprint metrics and gym-based strength and power assessments, and the role of movement analysis in structuring return-to-play protocols.

Tom Farrow (Performance Consultant, Brentford FC & Director, Areté Performance) will draw on applied examples to demonstrate how sprint mechanics data can be used to build a more complete picture of a player's physical capacity and injury risk profile across acceleration, maximum velocity, and sport-specific movement tasks.

  • The relationship between sprint mechanical outputs and gym-based testing results
  • Interpreting kinematic data across acceleration and maximal velocity phases
  • Identifying mechanical risk markers to inform return-to-play decision making
  • Applied examples from elite sport environments
